Punjab Govt Upgrades 12,000 Schools, Pushes Major Education Reform with Digital Learning and Global Training

Chandigarh: The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken several major initiatives to strengthen and modernise the state’s education system, aiming to raise learning standards to global levels and improve access to modern teaching technologies.

The government has emphasized that education is a key driver of development, and continuous reforms are necessary to prepare students for a technology-driven future.

Education Reform Drive Under AAP Government

The Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has placed strong focus on improving:

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the state is working to align Punjab’s education system with global standards by introducing modern learning methods and international exposure for teachers.

For the financial year 2025–26, the Punjab government allocated approximately 12% of total expenditure to the education sector.

Mission Samarth and Student Learning Improvement

Under initiatives like Mission Samarth, the government has focused on improving academic performance across government schools.

Digital Education and School of Eminence Model

Punjab has also introduced a modern digital education ecosystem, including:
