Chandigarh: In a move aimed at strengthening the state’s anti-corruption and vigilance framework, the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government has issued a fresh order transferring two senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to new roles, including key positions within the Vigilance Bureau.
The transfer order, approved by the Competent Authority, was released on Thursday and is effective immediately, with directions for officers to assume their new posts without delay.
Naveen Singla Gets Additional Charge of Vigilance Bureau
As per the official notification, Naveen Singla, IPS (2009 batch), who is presently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Jalandhar Range, will continue in that role but will now also hold additional charge as Director, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab, located in SAS Nagar (Mohali).
This dual posting is seen as significant, especially as Punjab continues to focus on clean governance and tightening vigilance measures across departments and public offices.
Ravjot Grewal Shifted to Vigilance Bureau
In another related move, Ravjot Grewal, IPS (2015 batch), who has been serving as Assistant Inspector General (AIG), Counter Intelligence, SAS Nagar, has now had her services placed at the disposal of the Vigilance Bureau, Punjab.
Her exact role within the Bureau is expected to be announced soon, though it is anticipated she will assist in sensitive investigations and intelligence-led operations under the Vigilance framework.
Swift and Targeted Realignment
This reshuffle, though limited in number, is strategically important. With corruption cases, public service accountability, and bureaucratic transparency becoming core governance issues in Punjab, these postings signal a shift toward more experienced and specialised officers handling vigilance responsibilities.
Both officers are directed to report to their new roles with immediate effect, as per the official government communication.
