Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has effected a minor administrative reshuffle involving three IAS officers, with changes ordered in key positions including Registrar of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, and Director, Sports.
The transfer and posting orders were issued by the Department of Personnel with immediate effect. The reshuffle also involves changes in responsibilities in the Health and Family Welfare, Housing and Urban Development, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Social Security, Women and Child Development, Energy and Sports sectors.
Rishi Pal Singh Relieved as PAU Registrar
Rishi Pal Singh, IAS (2014), who was serving as Registrar of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, has been relieved of the post.
Following the latest order, his services have been placed at the disposal of the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development for posting as Member Secretary, Punjab State Commission for Women.
With this move, Singh will take up a new responsibility under the Social Security, Women and Child Development Department after his tenure as PAU Registrar.
Sukhjeet Pal Singh Appointed PAU Registrar
Sukhjeet Pal Singh, IAS (2018), has been appointed as the new Registrar of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
Prior to the latest posting, Sukhjeet Pal Singh was serving as Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, and Additional Additional Secretary, Housing and Urban Development.
Under the new arrangement, he has been placed at the disposal of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare for posting as Registrar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
He will take over the position from Rishi Pal Singh.
The appointment brings an IAS officer with experience in the Health and Family Welfare as well as Housing and Urban Development departments to the administrative leadership of the state’s premier agricultural university.
Abhijeet Kaplish Gets Additional Charge of Director Sports
In another significant change, Abhijeet Kaplish, IAS (2015), Chief Executive of the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), has been given additional responsibility as Director, Sports.
Kaplish will now serve as Chief Executive, PEDA, while also holding the post of Director, Sports.
With the latest order, he has been assigned the additional charge of Director Sports, relieving Sakshi Sawhney of the additional charge she was previously holding.
The arrangement will allow Kaplish to continue heading PEDA while taking on the additional responsibility of the Sports Department.
Three IAS Officers Affected in Latest Reshuffle
The latest Punjab Government order affects three IAS officers and makes changes across several administrative departments.
Rishi Pal Singh moves from Punjab Agricultural University to the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development for his new assignment as Member Secretary of the Punjab State Commission for Women.
Sukhjeet Pal Singh moves from his existing responsibilities in Health and Family Welfare and Housing and Urban Development to the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare for his appointment as PAU Registrar.
Abhijeet Kaplish, meanwhile, retains his position as Chief Executive, PEDA, while assuming additional responsibility as Director, Sports.
The changes have been ordered with immediate effect.
