Punjab government has decided to fill the post of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Chairman with Punjab Police’s former state intelligence chief Jatinder Singh Aulakh, a 1997-batch IPS officer. He was appointed Chairman of the PPSC on Wednesday.
The appointment of Mr. Aulakh, who retired as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), was cleared by Punjab Governor, Mr. Banwari Lal Purohit.
Mr. Aulakh will now be heading the same commission that had selected him as DSP in 1990. He has served in various important positions in Punjab Police and, after the Bhagwant Mann government took charge in March 2022, he has served as Inspector General and also as intelligence chief.
