Chandigarh: In a major boost to Punjab’s dairy and agro-industrial sector, Industry and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora inaugurated Cargill Private Limited’s new ₹300 crore Dairy Feed Plant in Mandi Gobindgarh, marking it as South Asia’s largest dairy feed facility. The plant, established under the “Invest Punjab” initiative, will generate employment for 1,000 local youths and provide high-quality animal feed to dairy farmers, enhancing milk production, quality, and farmer income.
Largest Dairy Feed Plant in South Asia
Spanning 15 acres, the plant has an annual production capacity of 4.5 lakh metric tons, making it the largest dairy feed facility in South Asia. After Cargill’s Bathinda unit, this is the company’s second major unit in Punjab, further strengthening the state’s agro-industrial value chain.
The plant will produce scientifically formulated feed to improve livestock health and productivity, ensuring that dairy farmers have access to quality feed locally, reducing costs and increasing profitability.
