Tanakpur/Khatima: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off two vehicles provided under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by Bahl Paper Mill to strengthen health and education services in Tanakpur. The initiative aims to improve access to essential services, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
The event highlighted the growing role of the corporate sector in supporting grassroots development across Uttarakhand.
CSR Initiative to Strengthen Healthcare and Education
During the ceremony in Tanakpur, one vehicle was handed over to the Health Department to enhance emergency response and healthcare outreach in remote regions. The vehicle is expected to significantly improve mobility for medical teams and ensure faster assistance to rural communities.
The second vehicle was allocated to Government Inter College, Manch, to support academic activities and meet students’ logistical and institutional needs. The addition is expected to streamline school operations and improve access to educational resources.
Chief Minister Dhami appreciated Bahl Paper Mill’s contribution, stating that active participation from the corporate sector in developmental initiatives is highly commendable. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring that basic facilities such as quality education and accessible healthcare reach every citizen.
He noted that the newly provided CSR vehicles would enhance service delivery and strengthen local infrastructure at the grassroots level.
Government’s Focus on Inclusive Development
Highlighting the state’s priorities, Dhami said the Uttarakhand government is consistently working to bridge gaps in essential services across urban and rural areas. He emphasised that partnerships between the government and private sector play a crucial role in accelerating development and ensuring sustainable growth.
The CSR support from Bahl Paper Mill reflects a collaborative approach toward community welfare and social responsibility in the region.
Chief Minister Attends Holi Milan Ceremony in Khatima
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister attended a grand Holi Milan ceremony at Sanatan Dharamshala Ramlila Maidan in Khatima, where he extended festive greetings to residents.
He participated in traditional Kumaoni, classical, and Tharu Holi singing, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Uttarakhand alongside the local community.
Addressing the gathering, Dhami emphasised that the state’s folk traditions, festivals, and cultural practices form the foundation of Uttarakhand’s identity. He described Holi as not just a festival of colours, but also a symbol of unity, harmony, inclusiveness, and brotherhood.
In an emotional message to attendees, he said, “Khatima is my home and the people of Khatima are my family. It brings me immense happiness to be among my family members.”
Promoting Culture Alongside Development
The day’s events reflected a balanced approach toward governance—combining infrastructure and service development with the promotion of cultural heritage. As Uttarakhand continues its development journey, initiatives like CSR-driven healthcare and education support, along with community engagement during traditional festivals, reinforce the government’s focus on inclusive growth and social cohesion.
