RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NBCC (India) Limited to collaborate on the development and execution of Data Centre projects across India and international markets. This strategic partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both organizations to manage Data Centre initiatives from inception to completion.

Under the agreement, RailTel will be responsible for planning, designing, supplying, installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining IT-related infrastructure. This includes computing hardware, network systems, security frameworks, and disaster recovery mechanisms. Meanwhile, NBCC will contribute its expertise in civil infrastructure by overseeing the construction of Data Centre buildings and related passive infrastructure. The company will also manage contract administration, construction supervision, cost control, quality assurance, and project handover.
Expanding beyond India, the partnership envisions Data Centre projects in various international locations, including Vietnam, Mauritius, the UAE, and several African nations. Each project will be governed by a separate agreement, with provisions for third-party collaborations as needed.
The MoU was signed in the presence of several key officials, including Mr. Sanjai Kumar, CMD of RailTel, Mr. K.P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD of NBCC, Mr. Raj Kumar Chaudhary, CMD of NHPC, Dr. Devesh Tyagi, CEO of NIXI, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Tyagi, IPS, Additional CP of Delhi, and Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, Retd. IAS (Tamil Nadu), along with senior representatives from the participating organizations.
RailTel emphasized that this agreement provides a strong framework for fostering growth and innovation in digital infrastructure. By integrating RailTel’s technological expertise with NBCC’s proficiency in civil construction, the collaboration aims to enhance the development of modern Data Centres, reinforcing India’s and its partner nations’ digital capabilities.
