Leadership Update: Rajeev Kumar Appointed Executive Director (Civil) at SJVN to Strengthen Project and Environmental Oversight

New Delhi: Rajeev Kumar has assumed charge as Executive Director (Civil) and Head of Department for Geology, Cost Engineering, and Environment at SJVN Limited, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career of over three decades in the company.

Extensive Experience in Civil Design and Construction

Mr. Rajeev Kumar joined SJVN Limited on July 5, 1993, and has since amassed more than 32 years of experience in various functions within the organization. Over the years, he has made notable contributions in civil design and engineering, particularly in Hydro Mechanical (HM) and Arch units, as well as in other corporate headquarters functions. His extensive technical expertise has played a key role in supporting the company’s ambitious hydroelectric and infrastructure projects.

Leadership Roles in Major Hydro Projects

Before assuming his new role, Mr. Rajeev Kumar served as Chief General Manager and Head of Project for the Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project (HEP). In addition, he was deputed for four years to the Tala Hydro Electric Project, where he actively contributed to the design, construction, and operational planning of the project. His experience in these high-profile assignments underscores his deep understanding of large-scale hydroelectric projects and complex civil engineering operations.

Responsibilities as Executive Director (Civil)

In his new position, Mr. Rajeev Kumar will oversee critical functions including Geology, Cost Engineering, and Environment, ensuring that SJVN’s ongoing and upcoming projects adhere to the highest standards of technical excellence, sustainability, and cost efficiency. His leadership is expected to strengthen project execution capabilities and enhance the company’s overall operational performance.
