Ram Subhag Singh has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the state on Thursday. A 1987 batch officer, Mr. Singh was currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Industry and Transport. He will be replacing Anil Khachi (1986) who has ben appointed the State Election Commissioner.
Mr. Khachi who is due to retire in June 2023 took the charge of Chief Secretary in December 2019.
Mr. Subhag is the senior most officer after Khachi. Besides him, his wife Nisha Singh, serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Forest and Tarun Kapoor are also from the 1987 batch.
