REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE operating under the Ministry of Power and a leading non-banking financial company (NBFC), has recorded notable growth in loan disbursements for the third quarter of fiscal year 2024-25, ending on December 31, 2024. The total disbursements for the quarter reached ₹54,692 crore, reflecting a 17.98% rise compared to the same period last year.
A significant portion of these disbursements went toward renewable energy projects, which saw a remarkable 58.09% year-on-year (YoY) surge to ₹6,314 crore. This demonstrates REC’s increased efforts to bolster India’s clean energy initiatives and promote sustainable infrastructure.
During the first nine months of FY25 (April to December 2024), the company disbursed a total of ₹1,45,647 crore, representing 19.30% growth compared to ₹1,22,089 crore disbursed during the corresponding period of the previous year. Notably, renewable energy loans for this period amounted to ₹17,612 crore, showcasing a significant YoY growth of 78.68%.
These impressive results highlight REC’s pivotal role in advancing India’s power sector, with a sharpened focus on renewable energy. Its alignment with national clean energy objectives and efficient scaling of financial support reinforce its leadership in funding the country’s energy transition.
