New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of B. N. Krishnaiah, a retired IAS officer from the Karnataka cadre (KN:2000), as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Minister for Heavy Industries & Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy. The appointment is effective from the date Krishnaiah assumes charge of the post, or until further orders.
Mr Krishnaiah has been appointed on a contract basis at the level of Deputy Secretary, with a pay scale at Level 12 of the Pay Matrix, in relaxation of the upper age limit.
The tenure is set for 3 years, 6 months, and 18 days, corresponding to the remaining balance of 4 years for his tenure as OSD at Deputy Secretary level. His appointment will be co-terminus with that of the Minister, or until he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister, whichever comes first.
The move is part of the Ministry of Heavy Industries’ ongoing efforts to strengthen its administrative structure and ensure efficient functioning.
