Thiruvananthapuram: In a significant development, the Kerala government has revoked the suspension of IPS officer Sujith Das, who previously served as the District Police Chief of Pathanamthitta. This decision was made following a review by a committee led by Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan.
Das had been suspended on September 5, 2024, after a controversial phone call between him and former MLA P.V. Anvar surfaced publicly. During the conversation, Das allegedly made disparaging remarks about the then ADGP (Law and Order), M.R. Ajith Kumar, which led to public criticism and his suspension.
The committee’s review, which led to the lifting of the suspension, has raised questions about the details of the investigation and the reasons behind the decision. While no further specifics have been shared, the move ends months of uncertainty for the officer and marks a new chapter in his career. Sujith Das has previously been recognized for his dedication and service to the state.
