New Delhi: RLI Vindhyachal successfully inaugurated a half-day training programme on “New Labour Codes” on January 19 and 20, aimed at creating awareness about the four consolidated Labour Codes and their practical implications for workplace operations. The training was conducted in four batches for employees, SMC members, and employee representatives from Vindhyachal, Singrauli, and Rihand.
The programme was formally launched by Sanjib Kumar Saha, CGM (Vindhyachal), who welcomed the Guest of Honour and keynote speaker, NTPC’s Former Executive Director (HR) Amar Nath Verma. Emphasizing the importance of statutory knowledge, Saha highlighted that understanding the new labour codes is essential for ensuring compliance and effectively managing labour-related issues in a dynamic industrial environment.
Programme Highlights and Key Messages
- Simplification and Clarity: GM (O&M) AJ Rajkumar noted that the consolidated Labour Codes simplify processes, improve clarity, and standardize implementation across NTPC stations.
- Interactive Sessions: The training included interactive discussions, query resolution, and practical scenarios to enhance participants’ understanding of the new codes.
- Participation: Around 153 employees from the VSR region actively participated, reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment of NTPC employees towards statutory compliance and workplace harmony.
- Focus on Compliance: The sessions reinforced NTPC’s commitment to robust compliance practices, legal adherence, and fostering harmonious industrial relations across its stations.

The programme aimed to ensure uniform understanding and application of the four Labour Codes, covering:
- Code on Wages
- Industrial Relations Code
- Social Security Code
- Occupational Safety, Health, and Working Conditions Code
By providing practical guidance and real-world examples, the training seeks to equip NTPC employees and representatives with the knowledge to implement the new codes effectively and maintain a compliant, safe, and employee-friendly workplace.
