New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a premier railway infrastructure company, has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a significant railway safety and surveillance project awarded by South Eastern Railway. The project, undertaken as part of RVNL’s regular business operations, reinforces the company’s role in enhancing safety and modernization across Indian Railways.
Scope of the Project
As per a regulatory filing, RVNL has secured the L1 position for the “Supply, Installation and Commissioning of IP-based Video Surveillance System (VSS) in LHB Coaches”, adhering to RDSO specifications.
The project entails:
- Installation of four cameras per coach in line with RDSO standards
- Deployment of rugged handheld terminals (HHTs) or tablets for operational monitoring
- Provision of 8 TB external SSDs for data storage and recording
The contract has been awarded through domestic e-tendering and is valued at Rs 87.56 crore, excluding GST. The work is scheduled to be completed within 10 months from the date of issuance of the purchase order.
Compliance and Transparency
RVNL has clarified that neither the promoter nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding authority. The company also confirmed that the order does not fall under related party transactions, ensuring transparency and regulatory compliance in the award process.
