New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a leading railway PSU, has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a key project from West Central Railway. The contract, secured in the normal course of business, underscores RVNL’s growing portfolio in rail infrastructure development.
Project Scope and Significance
According to the exchange filing, RVNL will handle the Design, Modification, Supply, Erection, Testing, and Commissioning of a 220/132 kV/2X25 kV Scott-connected Traction Substation and switching posts with AT, including SCADA integration, for the BINA to RTA sections of the Bhopal Division in West Central Railway. This project is aimed at achieving a 3000 MT loading target, reflecting RVNL’s focus on strengthening railway electrification and operational efficiency.
Execution Timeline and Financials
The contract is valued at Rs 169.48 crore and is expected to be completed within 540 days. Following the announcement, RVNL shares traded higher by 0.55% at Rs 335.30 on BSE, with the stock opening at Rs 337.80, reflecting positive market sentiment.
