Vindhyanagar— In a powerful initiative to deepen safety consciousness and promote a zero-accident work environment, NTPC Vindhyachal organised a Mega Mass Pep Talk for its MGR (Operation & Maintenance) workforce. The event forms part of the station’s sustained efforts to embed a proactive and accountable safety culture across all levels of operation.
Leadership Sets the Tone for Safety Commitment
The session was spearheaded by Mr. Sanjib Kumar Saha, Head of Project, who urged employees to treat safety not as a mere compliance task but as a core value integral to their daily routines. He, along with Mr. Rajsekhar Pala, GM (Operation), led the workforce in taking a Safety Pledge in Hindi, symbolising each individual’s commitment to workplace safety.
Focus on MGR Operations and Risk Prevention
Mr. Mukesh Kashyap, AGM (MGR), highlighted the pivotal role of MGR operations in ensuring safe and uninterrupted coal transportation. He stressed the importance of strict adherence to established safety procedures. Mr. Ashish Kumar Agarwal, AGM (Safety), added depth with real-life case studies and offered strategic measures to prevent hazards in coal handling systems.
Holistic Approach: Health Awareness and Street Play
As part of a well-rounded safety campaign, the medical team conducted an interactive session addressing seasonal and occupational health risks, equipping workers with preventive health strategies. Enhancing the message’s impact, hospital staff staged a Nukkad Natak (street play) that used relatable storytelling to drive home the importance of daily safety practices.
Recognising Safety Champions
To boost morale and encourage best practices, 40 safety-conscious workers were felicitated by senior officials. This recognition underscored NTPC’s belief that safety is a shared responsibility that begins with individual action.
Collective Resolve from Senior Leadership
The event was attended by senior leaders including Mr. A.J. Rajkumar, GM (O&M), and Dr. Pratima Mahendra, Sr. Specialist & CMO In-charge (Vindhya Hospital). They collectively called on employees to remain vigilant, disciplined, and united in their commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
A Step Forward in Strengthening Safety Culture
The Mega Mass Pep Talk marks a significant step in NTPC Vindhyachal’s ongoing journey toward fostering a deeply rooted safety culture—one that empowers every employee to work responsibly, safely, and with pride.
