The Board of Directors of General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re) has appointed Mr. Satheesh Kumar as the Company Secretary, Compliance Officer, and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) of the Corporation. His appointment came into effect on April 30, 2025.
Mr. Kumar brings with him over 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector, having joined GIC Re in April 1999 as a Direct Recruit Officer. He holds distinguished professional qualifications, being an Associate Member of both the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, in addition to being a Fellow Member of the Insurance Institute of India.
During his long-standing tenure at GIC Re, Mr. Kumar has served in a variety of critical functions, including Investments, Credit Reinsurance, and Marine Reinsurance. His international experience includes a four-year posting at GIC Re’s London branch, where he oversaw reinsurance claims and finance operations.
This strategic appointment reinforces GIC Re’s commitment to regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and operational excellence.
