Jammu: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice Arun Palli, Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Justice Palli will take over after the current Chief Justice, Justice Tashi Rabstan, attains superannuation on April 9, 2025.
Justice Palli, born on September 18, 1964, is a graduate in Commerce and Law from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He began his legal career in 1988, specializing in civil, criminal, constitutional, revenue, industrial, and labor law. He served as the Additional Advocate General for Punjab and was designated a Senior Advocate in 2007. In December 2013, he was appointed to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Justice Palli has also held significant roles, including serving as the Executive Chairman of the Haryana State Legal Service Authority and as a Member of the Governing Body of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). His expertise and leadership have been recognized across various legal forums.
