The Ministry of Home Affairs recently appointed Ms. Shalini Singh (IPS) as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Puducherry, effective from August 1st, 2024. Officer Singh shall succeed the incumbent DGP, Mr. B Srinivasan (1991-batch IPS officer), who is set to retire. Officer Shalini Singh, a 1996-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, last served as the Special Commissioner of Police, Economic Offence Wing (EOW), Delhi.
