Senior IPS officer V.K Bhawra whos is a former DGP Punjab, has filed a petition in CAT Chandigarh, challenging the appointment of 1992 batch IPS officer Gaurav Yadav, as Head of Police Force, Punjab.
The petition will most likely be heard today, October 30, 2023.
In the petition filed against Gaurav Yadav’s appointment, VK Bhawra stated that the appointment of Gaurav Yadav to the post of DGP was not done in accordance with UPSC provisions and procedures.
Bhawra is an officer from the 1987 batch, while Gaurav Yadav is from the 1992 batch.
