West Bengal Transport Department has issued a list of dignitaries who cannot use red and blue beacon lights on their vehicle on Friday. The latest order has come in the wake of several fake IAS scam. The last notice regarding the use of lights on vehicles was last issued in 2014 by the Trinamool Congress government.
Recently, several fake IAS officers using blue lights on their vehicle had duped several people in West Bengal and the most noteworthy incident was the fake vaccination drive where the kingpin Debanjan Deb disguised as fake IAS officer and duped crores of rupees and also gave false COVID jabs to hundreds of people in Kolkata.
According to the latest order by Transport Department, the Governor, Leader of Opposition, Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court, Speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Mayor and Advocate General cannot use the red or blue lights on their vehicles. However, the police cordoning them can use the lights.
