Rajgarh/Bhopal: The Rakshabandhan festival turned into a grand celebration of women empowerment in Narsinghgarh, where Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed a massive gathering of sisters and launched multiple initiatives under the Ladli Behna Yojana. Amid emotional moments and festive fervor, he referred to sisters as “God,” emphasizing their selflessness, resilience, and pivotal role in Indian families.
Over ₹1858 Crore Transferred to Sisters’ Accounts
In a significant financial move, CM Yadav transferred ₹1541.76 crore under the regular Ladli Behna Yojana installment and an additional ₹317 crore as Rakshabandhan Shagun of ₹250 per beneficiary. More than 1.26 crore women received this festive gift.
Additionally, ₹43.90 crore was allocated to over 28 lakh sisters for gas cylinder refills, easing the burden of domestic expenses.
“Our government has given ₹41,000 crore to sisters so far. They save money and manage homes even by cutting their own needs. This dedication is divine,” the CM said.

Emotional Speech and Cultural References Stir the Crowd
While narrating childhood memories and traditional anecdotes, CM Dr. Yadav described the importance of the Rakshabandhan bond, recalling how sisters forgave their brothers’ mistakes and lit up homes with their arrival.
“The house where there is no daughter is incomplete. A daughter’s arrival brings joy greater than even God’s visit,” he stated.
He also shared a personal story of how his aunt’s arrival during Rakhi used to feel like Diwali, adding a nostalgic touch to the event.
Krishna-Draupadi’s Rakhi: A Tale of Protection and Immortality
Highlighting the spiritual depth of Rakshabandhan, CM Yadav recounted the story of Draupadi tying a rakhi to Lord Krishna after he was injured. Krishna, in turn, protected Draupadi in her time of need, making the festival an immortal celebration of trust and protection.
“The silk thread of rakhi holds the power to surpass all other strengths,” he said.

Operation Sindoor: Linking Security to Sisterhood
In a patriotic gesture, Dr. Yadav also connected the theme of Rakshabandhan to national security, praising PM Narendra Modi’s leadership in ‘Operation Sindoor’, an anti-terrorism operation said to be a tribute to the honor and safety of Indian women.
“This Rakshabandhan is symbolic of Operation Sindoor. PM Modi has ensured that terrorism is crushed like Krishna did to Shishupal,” he remarked.
More Announcements for Ladli Sisters
CM Yadav made further promises:
Post-Diwali, Ladli sisters will start receiving ₹1500 per month.
The goal is to eventually raise the amount to ₹3000.
Women employed in employment-oriented factories will receive ₹5000 from the government, apart from wages from employers.
Night shifts will be encouraged with dedicated hostels for working women.
Similar financial incentives will also be extended to brothers engaged in employment-generating units.

Before addressing the public, CM Yadav led a road show, cheered by locals lining the streets. At the event venue, hundreds of women tied rakhi to him, and the CM offered them return gifts and blessings. Flowers were also showered on sisters as a symbol of gratitude and respect.
