Shimla: SJVN Limited, a leading Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), held its 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) through Video Conferencing/Other Audio-Visual Means from its Corporate Headquarters in Shimla.
Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta, along with senior directors, government nominees, independent directors and the company secretary, addressed shareholders and highlighted SJVN’s operational, financial and strategic performance during FY2025-26.
The company reported record power generation, significant capacity additions, strong financial performance and continued progress across its hydro, solar and thermal power portfolio.
SJVN Records Highest-Ever Annual Power Generation
SJVN and its associate companies added 1,730 MW of installed capacity during FY2025-26 and achieved their highest-ever annual generation of 13,302.390 million units (MU) from all operational power stations.
The company’s key operational achievements included:
- Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (1,500 MW) crossed 150 billion units of cumulative generation since commissioning.
- Nathpa Jhakri achieved a Plant Availability Factor of 96.84%.
- Rampur Hydro Power Station (412 MW) recorded its highest-ever annual generation of 2,108 MU.
- Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station (60 MW) generated 310.36 MU, around 17% above its design energy of 265.5 MU.
The performance reflects SJVN’s focus on improving operational efficiency and maximising generation from its existing assets.

SJVN Reports Strong Financial Performance in FY26
SJVN recorded significant improvement in its financial performance during FY2025-26.
On a consolidated basis:
- Total revenue: ₹4,722.81 crore, compared with ₹3,376.50 crore in FY25
- Profit Before Tax: ₹1,200.63 crore, compared with ₹1,111.69 crore
- Profit After Tax: ₹641.85 crore
On a standalone basis:
- Total income: ₹3,869.66 crore, compared with ₹3,252.44 crore
- Profit After Tax: ₹1,007.90 crore, compared with ₹970.18 crore
The financial performance was supported by strong generation, capacity additions and continued expansion of the company’s power portfolio.
SJVN AGM Approves ₹0.35 Final Dividend
The AGM approved a final dividend of ₹0.35 per equity share for FY2025-26.
This is in addition to the interim dividend of ₹1.15 per share already paid during the year.
As a result, SJVN’s total dividend for FY2025-26 stands at ₹1.50 per equity share.
Bikaner Solar Project Reaches Full Commercial Operation
SJVN expanded its renewable energy portfolio during FY2025-26 with the full-capacity commercial operation of the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project.
The project also crossed one billion units of cumulative generation within a relatively short period after becoming operational.
Another major renewable energy addition was the commissioning of the 70 MW Dhubri Solar Power Project in Assam.
These projects strengthen SJVN’s growing presence in large-scale solar power generation.
Buxar Thermal Power Project Marks Entry into Large-Scale Thermal Generation
SJVN also marked a major milestone by entering large-scale thermal power generation with the commercial operation of 660 MW Unit-I of the 1,320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project.
The project’s second 660 MW unit is at an advanced stage of construction and is expected to be commissioned shortly.
The Buxar project adds thermal generation capacity to SJVN’s predominantly hydro and renewable energy portfolio.
Arun-3 and Other Hydro Projects Progress
SJVN reported substantial progress across its under-construction projects during FY2025-26.
The 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal advanced across several work packages, including:
- Civil works
- Hydro-mechanical works
- Electro-mechanical works
- Transmission works
Construction also progressed on several major hydroelectric projects in India:
- 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project
- 210 MW Luhri Stage-I Hydro Electric Project
- 69.50 MW Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project
Despite construction challenges, SJVN said significant progress was achieved across these projects during the year.
SJVN Adds 75 MW in FY27, Operational Portfolio Reaches 4,271.50 MW
Updating shareholders on the company’s performance in FY2026-27, CMD Bhupender Gupta said SJVN had added another 75 MW of installed capacity.
The addition came with the successful commissioning of the 75 MW Jamui Solar Power Project in Bihar.
Following this capacity addition, SJVN’s operational portfolio has reached 4,271.50 MW.
The latest addition further strengthens the company’s renewable energy portfolio and supports its long-term capacity expansion strategy.
SJVN Receives Multiple National Awards
SJVN’s performance and people-centric initiatives received recognition at various national forums during FY2025-26.
The company received:
- SCOPE Eminence Award in Human Resource Management
- Rajbhasha Prabha Award
- National Clean Industry Awards 2025
- Swachhta Pakhwada Awards 2025
These recognitions covered areas including human resource management, language promotion, clean industry practices and cleanliness initiatives.
₹30.72 Crore Spent on CSR and Sustainable Development
SJVN continued its focus on social responsibility and sustainable development during FY2025-26.
The company spent ₹30.72 crore on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development activities.
Through the SJVN Foundation, the company undertook initiatives across several areas, including:
- Healthcare
- Education
- Skill development
- Women empowerment
- Rural infrastructure
- Community development
The initiatives were particularly focused on communities located in and around SJVN’s project areas.
SJVN Retains ‘Excellent’ DPE Rating
SJVN continued to maintain its focus on corporate governance and accountability.
The company successfully retained an ‘Excellent’ rating under the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE).
The company said it remains committed to maintaining high standards of corporate governance while strengthening operational and financial performance.
SJVN Reaffirms Commitment to India’s Clean Energy Goals
At the AGM, Bhupender Gupta reaffirmed SJVN’s commitment to supporting India’s clean energy transition.
The company aims to contribute towards the country’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and Net-Zero emissions by 2070.
With growing investments in hydro and solar power, along with its expansion into thermal generation, SJVN is seeking to build a diversified generation portfolio while supporting India’s long-term energy requirements.
Gupta expressed gratitude to the Government of India, state governments, ministries, departments, shareholders, partner institutions and other stakeholders for their continued support.
He also credited SJVN’s Board and employees for their contribution to the company’s operational and strategic progress.
