Patna: Startup Bihar has completed the evaluation and funding process for 1,228 startup applications in a record 31 days, marking a significant step towards building a faster and more transparent startup ecosystem in the state.
Following the accelerated evaluation and selection process, 74 startups have been recommended for financial assistance totalling ₹3.48 crore.
The process began with AI-based evaluation on August 1 and concluded with the announcement of final results on August 31.
74 Startups Recommended for ₹3.48 Crore Financial Support
The financial assistance recommended under the latest selection process covers different stages of startup funding.
The recommendations include:
- 59 startups for the first instalment of ₹4 lakh each
- 12 startups for the second instalment of ₹6 lakh each
- 1 startup for one-time financial assistance of ₹10 lakh
- 2 startups for post-seed funding of ₹15 lakh each
In total, 74 startups have been recommended for financial support worth ₹3.48 crore.

Startup Bihar Completes Process in Just 31 Days
The evaluation and selection process was completed within a month, covering multiple stages from initial screening to final selection.
The process included:
- AI-based application evaluation
- Assessment by subject-matter experts
- Written evaluation
- Personal interactions with applicants
- Final selection
According to Startup Bihar, each stage was completed within the prescribed timeline.
The process started with AI-based evaluation on August 1 and ended with the declaration of final results on August 31, completing the entire exercise in 31 days.

Technology played a key role in speeding up the evaluation process.
The AI-based assessment helped strengthen the initial screening of applications and reduce manual intervention. This was followed by structured scrutiny and assessments by experts and evaluation committees.
The department said the combination of technology, defined timelines and coordinated evaluation helped make the process more systematic and efficient.

Industry Minister Shreyasi Singh said the achievement reflects the government’s commitment to creating a transparent, efficient and fast-moving startup ecosystem in Bihar.
She said the objective of Startup Bihar is to ensure that every talented and promising idea gets an equal opportunity to grow and expand while creating employment opportunities within the state.
The initiative is being implemented under the guidance of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and the leadership of Industry Minister Shreyasi Singh.
Secretary Kundan Kumar Emphasises Technology-Driven Process
Department Secretary Kundan Kumar said the achievement demonstrates efforts to bring greater efficiency and certainty to the state’s startup support system.
He highlighted the role of:
- Technology-based evaluation
- Systematic scrutiny
- Clearly defined timelines
- Structured assessment mechanisms
According to Kumar, these measures played an important role in streamlining the overall evaluation and selection process.
M.K. Gupta Credits Coordinated Efforts
Director Mukul Kumar Gupta said the record turnaround was the result of coordinated efforts by the technology team, Startup Support Unit, subject experts and evaluation committees. He said the AI-based evaluation strengthened the screening process at the initial stage and helped reduce manual intervention.
The department sees the faster evaluation cycle as an important step towards making startup support more responsive and accessible to entrepreneurs across Bihar.
