New Delhi: The government has entrusted Suresh Chandra Rajeev, ITS (1997), with the additional charge of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Rajeev is currently serving as the CVO of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) in Delhi. He will take up the additional responsibility of overseeing vigilance functions at AAI alongside his existing assignments.
Suresh Chandra Rajeev to Hold AAI CVO Charge Till April 2027
According to the government order, Rajeev will hold the additional charge of AAI CVO for a period up to April 2, 2027, from the date he assumes charge.
His tenure will continue until the earliest of the following:
- April 2, 2027
- Appointment of a regular CVO for AAI
- Further orders from the competent authority
The arrangement has been made to ensure continuity in the vigilance administration of AAI.

DoPT Issues Order on Additional Charge
The decision to assign Rajeev the additional responsibility was approved by the Competent Authority based on a proposal from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The order was issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on September 15, 2026.
With the new responsibility, Rajeev will oversee AAI’s vigilance-related functions while continuing in his existing roles at DGCA and BCAS.
Rajeev Currently Serves as CVO of DGCA and BCAS
Suresh Chandra Rajeev is a 1997-batch Indian Telecommunications Service (ITS) officer.
Before being assigned the additional charge at AAI, he was serving as CVO of:
- Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Delhi
- Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Delhi
His additional charge at AAI brings the vigilance responsibilities of the three key aviation-sector organisations under his oversight.
Additional Charge Strengthens Vigilance Oversight in Aviation Sector
The appointment comes at a time when effective vigilance and administrative oversight remain important for organisations responsible for critical aviation infrastructure and regulatory functions.
As CVO of AAI, Rajeev will be responsible for overseeing vigilance-related matters within the airport infrastructure organisation, in addition to his existing responsibilities.
The temporary arrangement will remain in place until a regular CVO is appointed or further government orders are issued.
