An Ecosystem for Precision Agriculture
Jayant Chaudhary called the Hub “a movement to empower our farmers as pioneers of precision agriculture.” He added the Hub is “more than a facility” and terms it a collaborative ecosystem. He emphasized,
“Technology is truly meaningful only when it stays rooted in the ground it seeks to uplift.”
The event featured a smart farm demonstration, startup exhibition of 20 agritech firms, farmer felicitation, and announcements on upcoming skilling schemes.
Academic Tie-up Enhances Innovation
An MoU between IIT Ropar and SVPUAT will foster agritech research and academic collaboration. The Hub is equipped with IoT sensors, smart irrigation, automation tools, and a real-time analytics platform. IIT Ropar contributed CPS Lab tech — IoT sensors, automation systems, cloud infrastructure — worth ₹75 lakh.
The Hub will host workshops and training sessions for farmers, rural youth, and stakeholders. Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) will actively help in knowledge transfer and capacity-building across Uttar Pradesh.

A New Chapter for Rural Uttar Pradesh
This Agritech Innovation Hub marks a major milestone for UP. It will turn Mehrut into a precision agriculture hub, boost rural jobs, and link startups with local farmers. The initiative merges traditional farming and cutting-edge tech, aiming to empower every cultivable acre in the state.
