Hyderabad: The Telangana IAS Officers’ Association has strongly condemned the recent remarks made by the Federation of Associations of Telangana Higher Education Institutions (FATHI) against A. Sridevasena, the in-charge Secretary of the Higher Education Department.
IAS Officers’ Association Passes Resolution
In a resolution passed on Thursday, the Association described the comments made by FATHI as “unwarranted and unfounded”, asserting that the statements lacked factual verification. The resolution emphasized that such remarks are detrimental to healthy public discourse and amount to personal attacks that undermine both the dignity of the officer and the integrity of the civil services.
FATHI’s Allegations and Demand
FATHI had, on Wednesday, demanded the transfer of Ms. Sridevasena, alleging that she had misinformed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and other ministers on key academic matters. The organization’s statement drew sharp criticism from the civil services fraternity, which viewed the remarks as an attempt to malign a serving officer without evidence.
Association Defends Civil Service Integrity
The Telangana IAS Officers’ Association, led by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao as president and Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan as secretary, stated that civil servants across all levels serve with “dedication, impartiality, and integrity, often under challenging circumstances and personal sacrifice.”
The Association further said, “Questioning their motives without substantiated facts undermines public trust and adversely affects the morale of officers committed to upholding the highest standards of public service.”
Call for Responsible Public Discourse
The resolution concluded by urging all organizations and stakeholders to maintain restraint and ensure that public criticism of government officials remains constructive, evidence-based, and respectful.
