THDC’s Sipan Kumar Garg Takes Addl Charge as Director (Finance) of SJVN

Power Sector Veteran with 23 Years of Experience Assumes Key Role at SJVN

New Delhi: Public sector power major SJVN Limited has announced that Sipan Kumar Garg, an accomplished finance professional, has assumed additional charge as Director (Finance) of the company with effect from July 10. The development follows an order issued by the Ministry of Power on July 9, 2025.

Currently serving as Director (Finance) at THDC India Limited, Garg has been entrusted with this additional responsibility for a period of three months or until a full-time Director (Finance) is appointed, whichever comes earlier. He succeeds Rajendra Prasad Goyal, who held the post until June 30.

Highly Qualified and Widely Experienced

Mr Garg brings over 23 years of experience in the power sector and a rich educational background. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), and a Company Secretary (CS), and also holds a Law degree (LL.B.). He is also a rank holder in the Company Secretary examination, highlighting his academic distinction.

Garg has held significant finance and leadership roles at NTPC Limited and its group companies. His previous assignments include serving as CFO of Aravali Power Company Pvt Ltd and Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. He played a crucial role in financial operations at NTPC’s Koldam Hydro Power Project, showcasing expertise in strategic finance, project financing, and corporate accounting.

Recognitions and Professional Contributions

Mr Garg is an active member of India’s financial professional community and has served on several committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). In 2024, he was conferred the “Visionary CFO of India” award at the National Economic Growth Summit and was also honored by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) for his contribution to financial excellence.
