In a significant move to shift from a B2C to a B2B approach, the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd (TRIFED), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has partnered with Rooftop, NIFT, and HPMC to facilitate tribal businesses. The Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed on February 24, 2025, in New Delhi during the ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.

TRIFED-Rooftop MoU for Skill Development
The MoU with Rooftop, an innovative platform offering art workshops, was signed by TRIFED Deputy General Manager Ms. Preeti Tolia and Rooftop CEO Mr. Kartik Gaggar. This partnership focuses on enhancing the skills of tribal artisans, expanding their market reach, and promoting indigenous art forms.
TRIFED-NIFT MoU for Product Development
The MoU with NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) was signed between TRIFED General Manager Mr. Sandeep Pahalwan and NIFT Director Mr. Gaurav Mishra. It aims to curate and develop designs for tribal handloom and handicraft products, ensuring they meet contemporary market demands.
TRIFED-HPMC MoU for Technological Advancement
The MoU with Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation Ltd (HPMC) was signed between TRIFED General Manager Ms. Mamta Sharma and HPMC General Manager Mr. Sunny Sharma. This partnership will augment technology and tertiary processing of horticulture and minor forest products, benefiting tribal farmers and entrepreneurs.
Aadi Mahotsav: A Grand Celebration of Tribal Heritage
The Aadi Mahotsav, a flagship event celebrating tribal culture, saw the presence of President Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Union Minister Shri Jual Oram, MoS Shri Durga Das Uikey, and MP Ms. Bansuri Swaraj. The festival, held from February 16 to 24, 2025, showcased various tribal products from across India.
