Lucknow: In a major move ahead of the Holi festival, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced a significant salary increase for approximately 3.10 lakh Anganwadi workers and helpers in the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made the announcement, marking a major milestone for these women workers who have long been advocating for better pay and working conditions. Additionally, the state government will soon be filling 69,206 vacant posts in the Anganwadi department, offering new employment opportunities to many.

Salary Hike for Anganwadi Workers and Helpers

Under the new announcement, the salary for Anganwadi workers and helpers in Uttar Pradesh will see a notable increase. Currently, an Anganwadi worker receives ₹8,000 per month, while helpers get ₹4,000 per month, which includes both the honorarium and government incentives. Although the exact amount of the salary increase has not been disclosed yet, the state government has confirmed that preparations are already underway for the revised pay structure.

This pay hike is expected to provide much-needed financial relief to these workers, many of whom have been demanding an increase for several years.

  • 7,952 positions for Anganwadi workers
  • 61,254 positions for Anganwadi helpers

This recruitment will not only provide employment opportunities for many but also help improve the functioning of the Anganwadi system, which plays a crucial role in the health and education of children in rural and urban areas.

A Long-Awaited Announcement for Women Workers

This announcement comes after sustained efforts by Anganwadi workers and helpers who have been demanding better pay and improved working conditions for years. The decision to increase their salaries and recruit for vacant positions is seen as a recognition of their vital role in the state’s welfare programs, especially in rural areas.

Uttar Pradesh Government’s Continued Focus on Women Empowerment

The salary increase and recruitment announcement further reflects the Uttar Pradesh government’s commitment to empowering women in the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has consistently focused on improving conditions for women workers across various sectors, and this move is another step in that direction.

A Significant Step Towards Better Welfare for Anganwadi Workers

The announcement by the Uttar Pradesh government is a welcome move for the state’s Anganwadi workers and helpers, many of whom will benefit from the salary hike and new employment opportunities. The filling of over 69,000 vacant posts will not only address staffing shortages but also enhance the quality of services provided through the Anganwadi system. With Holi around the corner, this timely announcement brings much-needed cheer to the women workers who have long been waiting for this recognition.
