Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has launched two digital platforms — ‘Kaushal Setu’ and ‘Kaushal Sarathi’ — to strengthen the state’s skill development system and make training opportunities more accessible for youth.
The portals were launched during the state-level celebration of World Youth Skills Day 2026 at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Kapil Dev Agarwal inaugurated the platforms.
The initiative aims to make skill training more digital, transparent, paperless and youth-centric across Uttar Pradesh.
Kaushal Setu Portal Makes Training Partner Registration Fully Online
During the event, Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal launched the ‘Kaushal Setu’ portal of the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM).
The platform has been designed to simplify the registration and empanelment process of training partners.
Key features of Kaushal Setu include:
- Online registration facility for training providers.
- Paperless submission of applications and documents.
- Transparent processing system.
- Single platform for managing required information and approvals.
With this digital system, educational institutions and training organisations will no longer need to make repeated visits to government offices for registration-related processes.
Kaushal Sarathi Helps Youth Find Training Centres Easily
Along with Kaushal Setu, the government also launched the ‘Kaushal Sarathi’ portal to directly benefit students and job seekers.
The platform will provide youth with information about:
- Available training centres in their districts.
- Skill development courses.
- Training partners.
- Centre locations and contact details.
A digital map feature will allow students to easily identify nearby training centres and choose suitable skill programmes.
The portal is expected to make skill training opportunities more accessible for youth across urban and rural areas of Uttar Pradesh.
UP Signs MoUs for AI, Robotics and Advanced Skill Training
The state government also signed important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during the event to prepare youth for future technologies.
The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission entered into partnerships with:
- KLK Private Limited
- Winsome Textile Industries Limited
Through these collaborations, young people will receive advanced training and employment opportunities in emerging sectors such as:
- Robotics.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Modern textile technology.
The partnerships aim to bridge the gap between industry requirements and workforce skills.
‘Skill to Self-Reliance’ Vision for Youth Empowerment
On the occasion, Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal also released a special coffee table book titled ‘Skilling the Future Uttar Pradesh: Journey from Training to Transformation’.
Highlighting the government’s vision, the minister said that skill development is no longer limited to classroom training. The focus is now on connecting technology, industries and employment opportunities to create self-reliant youth.
The government’s approach is based on the principle of:
“Skill to self-reliance and self-reliance to respect.”
Digital Skill Ecosystem to Strengthen Employment Opportunities in UP
Through the launch of Kaushal Setu and Kaushal Sarathi portals, Uttar Pradesh aims to create a modern skill development ecosystem where training providers, industries and youth can connect through digital platforms.
The initiative is expected to improve transparency in skill programmes, increase access to training facilities and help young people acquire industry-relevant skills for better employment opportunities.
