Lucknow/Rajasthan: Uttar Pradesh has once again emerged as the leading state in producing IAS officers in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024. A total of 179 candidates nationwide were selected for the IAS, with Uttar Pradesh contributing the highest number of 29 officers, surpassing last year’s figure of 27.
Home Cadre Allocation for UP Candidates
Of the 29 IAS officers from Uttar Pradesh, only six candidates received their home cadre:
- Shakti Dubey
- Mayank Tripathi
- Shivam Singh
- Siddharth Singh
- Shweta
- Ayush Saini
The remaining candidates have been allotted to various cadres including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam-Meghalaya, AGMUT, Gujarat, Tripura, and Andhra Pradesh. This means that many talented officers from Uttar Pradesh will now assume administrative responsibilities in other states.

Rajasthan and Bihar Performance
- Rajasthan: 21 IAS officers selected (down from 23 last year), only 2 received the home cadre
