The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially released the notification for the Uttar Pradesh Combined State Senior Subordinate Service Examination (UP PCS 2025). The commission has announced vacancies for 200 posts, which is slightly fewer compared to last year’s recruitment.
The application process for UPPCS 2025 begins today, 20th February. Interested candidates can apply online via the official UPPSC website at https://uppsc.up.nic.in, with the application link going live this evening.
The UPPCS 2025 examination will provide candidates the opportunity to apply for prestigious positions such as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sub Registrar, District Audit Officer, Senior Lecturer, and more.
Key Details of UPPCS 2025 Recruitment:
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years old as of July 1, 2025. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for reserved category candidates.
- Last Date to Apply: The application window will close on March 24, 2025. The last date to pay the application fee is also March 24.
- Correction Window: Candidates will have the opportunity to make corrections in their application forms till April 2, 2025.
Exam Dates:
- Preliminary Examination: Scheduled for October 12, 2025.
- Main Examination: For those who pass the preliminary exam, the main exam will be held in December 2025 or January 2026.
Application Fees:
- General/EWS/OBC: Rs 125
- SC/ST: Rs 65
- Divyang (PWD) candidates: Rs 25
- Ex-Serviceman: Rs 40
Exam Pattern:
The UP PCS Preliminary Exam will be held in two papers:
- Paper 1: General Studies (9:30 AM – 11:30 AM)
- Paper 2: General Studies (2:30 PM – 4:30 PM)
Each paper will be for a total of 200 marks, consisting of 100 objective questions (multiple choice). The second paper will be qualifying, requiring candidates to score at least 33% to pass.
Candidates will be selected for the main examination based on their performance in Paper 1 of the Preliminary Exam.
