New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, recommending 958 candidates for appointment to various prestigious services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.
The results were declared after the completion of the written examination held in August 2025 and the Personality Test (interview) conducted between December 2025 and February 2026. The candidates have been recommended strictly in order of merit based on their combined performance in the written examination and interviews.
The Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC is one of India’s most competitive examinations and is the gateway to top administrative and diplomatic services of the country.
Total Candidates Recommended for Appointment
According to the official press release, a total of 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment across various services.

Appointment to the various Services will be made according to the number of vacancies available with due consideration to the provisions contained in the Rules for the Examination.

PwBD Candidates Included in the List
Among the recommended candidates, several belong to the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories.
The break-up includes:
- PwBD-1: 10 candidates
- PwBD-2: 14 candidates
- PwBD-3: 9 candidates
- PwBD-5: 9 candidates
These candidates are included within their respective categories in the final selection list.
UPSC Maintains Consolidated Reserve List
As per the Civil Services Examination Rules 2025, the Commission has also prepared a Consolidated Reserve Listof candidates.

The total vacancies include 42 posts reserved for PwBD candidates.
Verification of Reservation Claims
UPSC clarified that the reservation status claimed by candidates under EWS, OBC, SC, ST and PwBD categories will be verified by the respective authorities before final appointments are confirmed.
348 Candidates’ Results Kept Provisional
The Commission also noted that the candidature of 348 recommended candidates has been kept provisionalpending verification of documents or other formalities.
Additionally, the results of two candidates have been withheld.
Marks to be Released Soon
UPSC stated that the marks of candidates will be made available on its official website within 15 days from the declaration of the final result.
Candidates can also access the results and related information through the UPSC website or contact the UPSC Facilitation Counter located near the examination hall at the Commission’s campus during working hours.
