UPSC Results 2025: 30 from Telugu States Crack Civil Services Exam; Scholarship Scheme Helps Telangana Aspirants

New Delhi/Hyderabad: At least 30 candidates from the Telugu States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have secured places in the final merit list of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2025, the results of which were announced on Friday. The achievement reflects the growing presence of aspirants from the region in India’s most prestigious competitive examination.

Among the successful candidates, Gudelli Srujana from Peddapalli district in Telangana secured the 55th rank, emerging as one of the top performers from the Telugu-speaking States.

The Civil Services Examination is one of the most competitive examinations in the country, and this year 958 candidates were recommended for appointment to services such as the IAS, IPS, IFS and other Central Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ services.

Telugu State Candidates Who Secured Ranks

Several candidates from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh featured in the final list of successful aspirants.

Some of the notable candidates include:

• Gudelli Srujana – Rank 55

• Srigiriraju V.P.S. Sai Krishna – Rank 125

• Kolipaka Sree Krishna Sai – Rank 150

• Banoth Laxmi Rachana – Rank 178

• S. Varshith Reddy – Rank 259

• Velimineti Vikram Simha Reddy – Rank 541

Their success has brought pride to the region and serves as inspiration for thousands of civil services aspirants across the two States.

Large Participation from Telugu States

According to data from coaching centres in Hyderabad, 74,427 candidates from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh applied for the Civil Services Examination 2025, out of which 42,804 aspirants actually appeared for the exam.

Hyderabad alone accounted for a significant number of aspirants, with 25,787 candidates appearing for the examination from the city.

Around 90 aspirants from the two States reached the interview stage, which was conducted between December 2025 and February 2026.

For comparison, 54 candidates from the Telugu States had secured ranks in the previous year, indicating a strong and consistent presence of the region in the civil services.

Telangana Government’s Scholarship Scheme Supports Aspirants

The Telangana government’s Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme has also played an important role in supporting aspirants preparing for the examination.

Under the scheme, 202 candidates from Telangana who cleared the preliminary examination received financial assistance of ₹1 lakh from Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).

Out of these beneficiaries:

• 51 candidates qualified for the personality test (interview stage)

• 20 candidates eventually secured ranks in the final result

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed happiness over the success of these candidates and stated that the scheme aims to support talented students from economically weaker backgrounds in achieving their civil services dream.

Coaching Institutes Claim Strong Results

Several prominent coaching institutes in Hyderabad also reported strong performances by their students.

RC Reddy IAS Study Circle

One of the city’s leading institutes, RC Reddy IAS Study Circle, claimed that its students secured the following ranks in the examination:

• AIR 10

• AIR 21

• AIR 23

• AIR 35

• AIR 38

• AIR 44

• AIR 48

• AIR 55

Analog IAS Academy

Another coaching institute, Analog IAS Academy, stated that 33 of its candidates featured in the final merit list of 958 candidates.

According to institute director Srikanth Vinnakota, their students secured several notable ranks, including:

• Aastha Jain – Rank 9

• Jayant Garg – Rank 64

• Kanishak Aggarwal – Rank 72

• Aaakash Om Trivedi – Rank 73

• Rahul Shekhar – Rank 75

Experts Say Number of Aspirants Will Continue to Grow

According to V. Gopalakrishna, Director of IAS coaching centre Brain Tree, most candidates appearing for the exam are repeat aspirants.

He noted that the increasing awareness about civil services and uncertainty in the private sector job market are encouraging more young people to pursue careers in government administration.

“Most aspirants have been attempting the exam for the last few years. With increasing awareness about civil services and uncertainties in private sector jobs, the number of aspirants is expected to grow in the coming years,” he said.

The top ranks in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 were secured by candidates from across the country.

The top 10 candidates include:

2 Rajeshwari Suve M – Rank 2

3 Akansh Dhull – Rank 3

4 Raghav Jhunjhunwala – Rank 4

5 Ishan Bhatnagar – Rank 5

6 Zinnia Aurora – Rank 6

7 A. R. Rajah Mohaideen – Rank 7

8 Pakshal Secretry – Rank 8

9 Aastha Jain – Rank 9

10 Ujjwal Priyank – Rank 10

Overall Result Highlights

According to the UPSC press release:

• 958 candidates were recommended for appointment to various services

• 348 candidates’ results were kept provisional

• Results of two candidates were withheld

The selected candidates will now be appointed to various prestigious services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Central Civil Services.
