UPSC Extends CSE-2025 Application Deadline Once Again, New Last Date Set for Feb 21, Check All Details Here

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has once again extended the application deadline for the Civil Services Examination (CSE). Candidates now have time until February 21, 2025, to submit their applications. The notification for the exam was originally issued on January 22, 2025.

This is the second extension of the application deadline. The original closing date was set for February 11, 2025, but it was first extended to February 18, 2025, and now further extended to give candidates additional time to apply.

Candidates interested in applying can visit the official UPSC websites at upsc.gov.in or upsconline.gov.in to complete their applications.

This year, the UPSC aims to fill 979 positions through the Civil Services Examination. In addition, the UPSC has also issued a notification for the recruitment of the Indian Forest Service (IFoS). A total of 150 vacancies are available for the Forest Service.

Aspiring candidates are encouraged to apply before the new deadline to secure their chance to compete in one of the most prestigious examinations in the country.

How to Apply for UPSC CSE 2025:

The UPSC CSE application process consists of two parts:

  1. Part-I (Registration)
  2. Part-II (Candidate’s Login)

Follow these steps to complete your application:

  1. Visit the official UPSC website upsc.gov.in.
  2. Click on the “Apply Online” button to begin your registration.
  3. Fill in the required personal details and click “Preview and Create Account.”
  4. Log in with your registration number and password to complete the rest of the details.
  5. Upload your photograph and signature in the specified format.
  6. Review your form and pay the application fee.
  7. Finally, print your application form for future reference.

UPSC 2025: Vacancies

The UPSC has announced a total of 1129 vacancies for the upcoming exams. Below is the breakdown:

  • CSE Vacancies: 979
  • IFS Vacancies: 150
  • Reserved for PwBD: 38 vacancies

PwBD Categories Breakdown:

  • Blindness and Low Vision: 12
  • Deaf and Hard of Hearing: 7
  • Locomotor Disabilities: 10
  • Multiple Disabilities: 9

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC CSE 2025

  • Age Limit: 21-32 years
    (Age relaxation available for SC/ST, OBC, and other categories)
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University
  • Nationality: Indian Citizen
  • Number of Attempts:
    • General: 6 attempts
    • OBC: 9 attempts
    • SC/ST: Unlimited
    • PwBD: 9 for GL/EWS/OBC, Unlimited for SC/ST

Candidates interested in applying for UPSC CSE 2025 should ensure they meet all the eligibility criteria and apply before the extended deadline of February 21, 2025.

Civil Services Examination 2025 Schedule

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is conducted annually in three stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Main Examination
  3. Interview

Through this exam, officers are selected for prestigious services like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS).

The Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025 is scheduled to be held on May 25, 2025.
