The first two toppers in Jharkhand Public Service Commission-2021, Savitri (1st rank) and Vinod Kumar (2nd rank) are the alumni of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Bokaro and Dumka, respectively. Apart from it 28 alumni of various JNVs have cracked UPSC Civil Service Examination-2021. They secured good ranks in the examination e.g. C. Yashwantha Kumar Reddy of JNV Kadappa, Karnataka secured All India 15th rank; Mantri Mourya Bharadwaj of JNV Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, secured 28th rank and Ankit Kumar Chouksey of JNV Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh secured 89th rank.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, which is an Autonomous Organization under the Ministry of Education, Department of School Education and Literacy. JNVs are residential co-educational schools from class VI to XII, which provide free of cost good quality modern education with free lodging and boarding facilities, pre-dominantly to the rural talents without regard to their socio-economic status. Presently, 650 JNVs are functioning all over the India, except Tamil Nadu State with the mandate to open one JNV in each district of the country.
After passing out from the JNVs the students get selected in various reputed national or international educational institutes for higher studies and alumni of these schools are serving the nation at various posts/positions.
