Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday felicitated the students who cleared the UPSC exam this year, studying at SAMKALP IAS, a coaching institute backed by the RSS.
The program was broadcasted live through Facebook. The organization was established in 1986 to help the students in the preparation of one of the most prestigious exams in this country. This year it saw a remarkable success as 476 out of 829 students who cracked the exam was connected with at least one program offered by organization mostly the ‘Interview Guidance’ program.
Many respected VIPs were present in the program including Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, former Lok Sabha Speaker Ms. Sumitra Mahajan, Governor of Nagaland and security expert Mr. RN Ravi and Patronet LNG Foundation’s Independent Director Dr. Jyoti Kiran Shukla, Managing Director of Globe Capital Mr. Ashok Agarwal and Director of IGL, Ms. Saroj Bala. All of then extended their blessings to the selected UPSC aspirants.
He also pointed the Karmyogi mission by the government of India and said, “Sometimes I think about you and I am thrilled. You will probably be the first batch of Karmayogi training system. Through this you might witness the same environment in the government as you felt here in Samkalp.”
While addressing the students Mr. Pradhan said, “The first home minister of the country, Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, spoke of the three pillars of the democratic system that is the judiciary, the legislature and the administration. He also emphasized on administration as the in strong framework that has played an important role to take India forward after independence. I am glad that you are going to be a part of the administration column. By 2022, when you assume your responsibility, the country will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of independence.”
Governor of Nagaland Mr. RN Ravi also addressed the students and wished them for their future endeavour. He said, “The Administration before our independence was not for people. There was a distance between the administration and common people. We thought that after independence things would change but for unfortunately is continued for many decades. However, organisation like Samkalp is making sure that the aspirants who will later go in administration should work for people and be sensitive towards them. Their contribution is really commendable.
Former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan also highlighted the mindset of people in regards with civil services and bureaucracy. She said, “There were songs like ‘Main toh Sahab ban gaya, dekho kaisa tan gaya’, but we have seen many examples were the IAS or IPS has given their life for the betterment of people.”
Around 50-60 successful students also participated in the program and shared their experiences with Samkalp. Pratibha Verma and Himanshu Gupta who were able to secure third and 27th rank respectively also spoke on the occasion. They said that they were blessed to be part of such an organization who not only groom students to clear the exam but also make sure that they become exemplary officer on field as well.
