Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh announced a scholarship programme, Super IAS 500, for deserving and talented IAS aspirants from the state on Tuesday.
According to Mr. Singh, face to face IAS coaching facilities will be provided to the state’s UPSC aspirants with faculty members from Alternative Learning System (ALS), Delhi stating the conditions faced by the aspirants to go to other states for coaching facilities.
The CMalso expressed satisfaction on the selection of 6 candidates from the state in the recent UPSC CSE.
The successful candidates from the state –

- Heikrujam Prasanjeet (AIR 578)
- Kshetrimayum Deepi Chanu (AIR 621)
- Hatchinghoi Haokip (AIR 673)
- Lourembam Nelson Mangangcha (AIR 757)
The scholarship scheme was taken up under the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Civil Services Aspirants.
According to the announcement by the CM, IAS mentors from ALS, Delhi would be conducting classes at the State Academy of Training (SAT), sponsored by the State Government. The first batch of classes have been scheduled from 8th November, 2021 to 30th April, 2022. Also, crash course classes would be available for aspirants who have cleared the preliminary examinations. Mr. Singh also added the government is planning for construction of permanent complex with hostel accommodations to provide UPSC coaching classes.
The announcement was made during a function held at the CM’s Secretariat. The meeting was also attended by State Education Minister Sorokhaibam Rajen, Chairman, Loktak Development Authority, MLA L. Sushindro, Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board, MLA L. Rameshwor, etc.
