Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) has allocated sector-wise training targets to Industrial Training Providers (ITPs) under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) scheme.
The move aims to implement skill development programmes in mission mode, ensuring industry-aligned and employment-oriented training for youth across the state.
According to an official memorandum issued by the Directorate of UPSDM, all training providers must adhere strictly to prescribed conditions and quality standards while completing their allocated targets within the stipulated time frame.

Under the programme, the maximum training duration has been fixed at 600 hours. For residential training centres, a minimum of 8 hours of daily training is mandatory.
Key compliance requirements include:
- Mandatory verification on the official portal before commencement of training
- Affiliation with the respective Sector Skill Council
- Training delivery as per standardised curriculum
- Assessment conducted only through the concerned Sector Skill Council
These measures are aimed at ensuring high-quality training and strengthening outcome-based monitoring.

Attendance of trainees and other required data must be uploaded on the NSDC/SDMS portal. Grant funds will be released only after proper verification.
The government has warned that any negligence or irregularity by training providers will invite strict action as per norms. Non-fulfilment of targets within the financial year may also impact future allocations.
Employment-Focused Skill Development Strategy
The Uttar Pradesh government is working to directly connect skill development with employment generation. Through industry-driven training modules, private sector participation and digital monitoring systems, the state aims to strengthen its skill ecosystem.
The memorandum clearly states that all allocated targets must be achieved within the relevant financial year, reinforcing the government’s commitment to accountability and performance-driven implementation.
