Lucknow: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as one of India’s foremost hubs for electronics and high-tech manufacturing. This progress is underscored by the recent approval of 22 projects under Phase 3 of the Central Government’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), of which four proposals are from Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the state’s growing prominence in the sector.
Uttar Pradesh Secures Major Share in ECMS Phase 3
Uttar Pradesh is among 11 states selected under the scheme, which is expected to attract a total investment of ₹41,863 crore and generate 33,791 direct jobs nationwide. The inclusion of UP projects under ECMS is set to provide substantial economic benefits to the state while offering employment opportunities to its youth.

Investor-Friendly Policies Driving Growth
The CM Yogi government has actively strengthened the state’s investor-friendly ecosystem in recent years. Key initiatives such as the Uttar Pradesh Electronics Manufacturing Policy, 2017, and the Electronics Components Manufacturing Policy, 2025, have bolstered investor confidence. Combined with improved law and order, transparent governance, and upgraded infrastructure, these measures have positioned Uttar Pradesh as a preferred destination for electronics and high-tech manufacturing.
Building India’s Largest Mobile and Component Manufacturing Hub
Uttar Pradesh already accounts for over 55% of India’s smartphone production and 50–60% of mobile component manufacturing. The ECMS-supported projects will further strengthen the electronics supply chain and contribute to India’s self-reliance by manufacturing critical components such as PCBs, display modules, lithium-ion cells, and other essential parts. This will support growth in the mobile and IT hardware sectors and expand high-value manufacturing capabilities across the state.
Strong Industry Presence and Global Partnerships
Currently, more than 200 companies operate in the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector in Uttar Pradesh. Leading national and international brands such as Vivo, Oppo, Samsung, Lava, Haier, and LG, along with key component manufacturers like Holitech, Transsion, Jahwa, Sunwoda, and Samkwang, have established a strong presence, reflecting growing investor confidence and the state’s robust industrial ecosystem.
Vision for a Self-Reliant India
Driven by the vision of a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat), the CM Yogi government has created a comprehensive support framework for investors. This proactive approach continues to attract major national and global brands to Uttar Pradesh, consolidating the state’s position as a leading electronics and high-tech manufacturing destination.
This combination of strategic policies, strong infrastructure, and a growing talent pool positions Uttar Pradesh as a critical contributor to India’s electronics manufacturing landscape in the years ahead.
