Uttar Pradesh Strengthens Connectivity to Jewar Airport with ₹40 Crore Road Widening Project

New road via Haryana and Khurja to reduce travel time, boost investment, jobs and regional development in Noida–Greater Noida region
Indian Masterminds Stories

Jewar (Uttar Pradesh): Connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar is set to improve significantly with the launch of a ₹40 crore road widening and beautification project. The initiative aims to provide smoother and faster access to the airport from Greater Noida, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh via Khurja, while also strengthening regional infrastructure and economic growth.

The construction work was formally inaugurated on Thursday by Jewar Block Pramukh Munni Devi Pahariya and Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, following traditional rituals. A large number of local residents were present on the occasion.

Better Connectivity Between UP and Haryana

Speaking at the inauguration, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh said that the widened road would play a crucial role in connecting Haryana and Uttar Pradesh directly to Noida International Airport. He noted that travel distance between the airport and Haryana, as well as areas of western Uttar Pradesh via Khurja, would be reduced considerably.

The improved road network will also connect several districts of Haryana, giving fresh momentum to social and industrial development across the region. The project is expected to ease movement for passengers, logistics operators and daily commuters once the airport becomes operational.

Direct Benefits for Farmers, Traders and Industries

Highlighting the broader impact of the project, the MLA said that farmers, traders and industrial units would directly benefit from enhanced connectivity to the airport. The road will strengthen links between Jewar, nearby industrial areas and major markets in Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh.

Faster and more efficient access to markets will help farmers save time and reduce transportation costs, while traders and industries will gain improved access to domestic and international supply chains. The project is also expected to encourage new investments in the region, boosting industrial activity and business growth.

Employment Opportunities and Regional Growth

The road widening and beautification project is expected to generate employment opportunities for local youth during and after construction. Improved infrastructure is likely to attract private investment, leading to long-term job creation in logistics, services and allied sectors.

According to local leaders, the development will contribute to transforming Jewar and surrounding areas into a major economic and industrial hub in the coming years.

Jewar Airport: A Game-Changer for Uttar Pradesh

The upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, the fifth airport in Uttar Pradesh, is set to become operational this year. Being developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, the airport is expected to handle flights to several domestic and international destinations.

Once operational, the airport will significantly reduce the burden on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and act as a catalyst for rapid development in the surrounding regions of Noida, Greater Noida and western Uttar Pradesh.

Infrastructure Development and Future Prospects

The state government is prioritising multiple infrastructure projects in and around the Jewar Airport region with the aim of positioning Noida and Greater Noida on the global map. The ₹40 crore road project is being seen as a key step in this direction.

With improved connectivity, enhanced infrastructure and the operationalisation of the international airport, optimism remains high about the region’s future. The developments are expected to usher in a new phase of growth, investment and progress for Jewar and adjoining areas.
