Chamoli: Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, visited Chamoli today to participate in the 24th Bund Development Industrial, Tourism, Farmer, and Cultural Fair 2025 held at Peoplekoti. The event was marked by the presence of District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar and Superintendent of Police Surjeet Singh Panwar, who welcomed the Chief Minister.
Promoting Local Culture and Products
Addressing the gathering at the Bund Fair, CM Dhami emphasized the importance of such events in providing a platform for local products and showcasing the vibrancy of folk culture. He noted that souvenirs and gifts distributed by the state government are now produced by women from local self-help groups, empowering rural livelihoods and creating sustainable income opportunities.

Citizen Engagement and Public Participation
The Chief Minister urged citizens to actively participate in the Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwaar initiative, which focuses on resolving local issues at the Gram Panchayat level. He also expressed gratitude to local residents, traders, farmers, and everyone involved in organizing the fair. Highlighting the state’s commitment to national campaigns like One District One Festival, Vocal for Local, and Make in India, he assured that Uttarakhand is actively promoting regional industries and cultural heritage.
Development and Tourism Initiatives
CM Dhami spoke about ongoing development projects under the Master Plan at Kedarnath and Badrinath, including ropeway constructions and rail projects, aimed at boosting tourism and strengthening the local economy. He highlighted state initiatives like:
- One District One Product (ODOP)
- House of Himalaya brand promotion
- State Millet Mission
- Homestay program
Currently, over 800 homestays are operational, supporting local tourism and entrepreneurship. He also noted that Uttarakhand is emerging as a popular wedding destination, further boosting the state’s tourism profile.

Infrastructure and Cultural Projects
During the event, the Chief Minister announced several key projects:
- Expansion of Semaldala Sports Ground
- Development of basic amenities, including drinking water, along the Nanda Devi Rajjat pilgrimage route
- Realignment of Gwaldam-Tapovan Lord Curzon route to Nanda-Sunanda route
- Beautification of Rajrajeshwari Temple, Kurud, and establishment of a traveler’s rest house at Anusuya Devi Temple Mandal
He further reaffirmed the government’s commitment to Antyodaya principles, ensuring that benefits of development programs reach the last citizen. CM Dhami also highlighted the state’s strict enforcement of land laws, noting that over 10,000 acres of land have been cleared of encroachments, reflecting Uttarakhand’s dedication to preserving its heritage and culture.

The Chief Minister concluded by stating that the government is continuously working towards making Uttarakhand a hub of knowledge, education, culture, and development, ensuring sustainable growth while protecting the state’s unique environmental and cultural legacy.
