Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to 215 newly appointed sub-inspectors at the Chief Servants’ House in Dehradun. The batch includes 104 Sub-Inspectors, 88 Gunmen (P.A.C.), and 23 Fire Second Officers, marking a significant step towards strengthening law enforcement and disaster management in the state.

CM Dhami Highlights the Responsibility of the New Appointees

Addressing the newly appointed officers, CM Dhami stated that their previous exams were only the beginning and that the real test now begins. He emphasized that the officers would now shoulder critical responsibilities including state security, law and order, disaster management, and fire safety, which must be carried out with full dedication, discipline, and integrity.

Strengthening Law and Order in Uttarakhand

CM Dhami highlighted the pivotal role of the police in ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order. He pointed out that Uttarakhand shares two international and two internal borders, which makes effective policing crucial. Officers are expected to actively engage in:

  • Controlling drug-related crimes
  • Tackling cybercrime and crimes against women
  • Managing traffic safety
  • Handling disaster management
  • Overseeing major pilgrimages and events like Char Dham Yatra and Kanwar Yatra

The CM emphasized that these responsibilities require dedication, vigilance, and professional excellence from all police personnel.

Transparent Recruitment and Anti-Cheating Measures

CM Dhami also underlined the state government’s efforts to ensure transparency in recruitment. Uttarakhand has implemented one of the strictest anti-cheating laws in the country, which has led to over 26,000 youth securing government jobs in the past four years.

He reassured that all examinations in the state are conducted in a completely transparent and fair manner, ensuring merit-based recruitment and integrity in public service.

CM’s Message to the New Officers

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the newly appointed officers would perform their duties with honesty, dedication, and commitment, thereby strengthening public trust, law enforcement, and security across the state.

CM Dhami’s address reflected the government’s focus on building a disciplined, efficient, and accountable police force capable of meeting the growing challenges of law enforcement, public safety, and disaster management in Uttarakhand.
