Dehradun: In a move aimed at strengthening the agricultural framework of the state, Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday distributed appointment letters to 12 newly selected candidates for the post of cartographer in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.
Appointment Letters Distributed at CM Residence
The distribution ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s residence, where the selected candidates were formally inducted into their roles. Addressing the recruits, Dhami congratulated them and highlighted the importance of their contribution to the state’s agricultural system.
He expressed confidence that the newly appointed cartographers would carry out their responsibilities with honesty, dedication, and professionalism.
“Your Role Now Serves the State”
While interacting with the media, the Chief Minister underscored the broader responsibility that comes with government service. He stated that the selected candidates must now work not only for personal growth but also for the development of the state.
Dhami urged them to ensure that government schemes and projects are completed within stipulated timelines and meet departmental expectations. He also noted the significant expansion in the state budget, infrastructure, and employment opportunities in recent years.
Focus on Transparent Recruitment and Youth Employment
Highlighting governance reforms, Dhami pointed to the implementation of a strict anti-cheating law designed to ensure fairness and transparency in recruitment processes. According to him, the law has already shown positive results.
He revealed that more than 30,000 youths have been provided government employment following its enforcement, reflecting the administration’s commitment to merit-based selection and youth welfare.
Boost to Agriculture Through Innovation and Diversification
The Chief Minister also shed light on the government’s agricultural initiatives aimed at increasing farmers’ income and making farming more attractive to the youth.
Key focus areas include:
- Promotion of natural farming practices
- Encouragement of millet production and marketing
- Expansion of irrigation facilities
- Adoption of modern agricultural technologies
- Crop diversification
Additionally, the state is actively promoting horticulture, including the cultivation of apples, kiwis, and medicinal plants.

Dhami reiterated that the government’s long-term vision is to transform agriculture into a profitable and sustainable sector. By doing so, the state aims to encourage greater youth participation and strengthen rural livelihoods.
