Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday oversaw the transfer of ₹12,89,85,000 via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the accounts of 4,224 beneficiary workers under various schemes of the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The event was held at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office, highlighting the state government’s continued focus on the welfare and development of workers who form the backbone of the state’s infrastructure and development efforts.
Launch of Special Assistance at Common Service Centres
Alongside the DBT transfers, the Chief Minister inaugurated special assistance facilities for workers at 191 Common Service Centres (CSCs) across the state. These centres will provide easy access to registration, renewal, and other essential services related to welfare schemes at the block, tehsil, and village levels.
Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami emphasized that these initiatives will save workers time and resources, as they no longer need to make repeated visits to government offices. The CSCs are designed to act as a single-window facility for workers to avail themselves of all scheme-related assistance.

Focus on Welfare and Skill Development
Speaking at the event, CM Dhami highlighted the state government’s commitment to resolving issues faced by workers and ensuring financial security, social protection, and a dignified standard of living for them and their families.
“These workers form the strongest foundation of the state’s development, and their contributions to infrastructure projects are invaluable,” he said. “It is the responsibility of the government to secure the future of those who play a crucial role in the state’s progress, along with their families.”
The Chief Minister also pointed out that training and skill development programs are being conducted to enhance workers’ employability and support their livelihoods.
Ongoing Welfare Initiatives
CM Dhami further informed that over the past six months, the Workers Welfare Board has directly transferred ₹51 crore into the bank accounts of workers and their families. Previously, facilities for registration, renewal, and submission of benefit applications had been made available at the development block level, and now, the CSCs will further streamline these services.
The special assistance facilities at the 191 CSCs are expected to significantly improve accessibility and convenience for workers across the state, ensuring that welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary efficiently.
