Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday, January 4, 2026, digitally transferred pension amounts to the bank accounts of beneficiaries under various Social Welfare Department schemes using the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. A total of ₹140.26 crore was transferred directly into the accounts of over 9 lakh eligible beneficiaries, including senior citizens, women, differently-abled individuals, and farmers.
Ensuring Timely and Transparent Disbursement
CM Dhami shared the update on social media platform X, emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing social security to vulnerable and marginalized sections of society. He stated that the aim is to ensure pension funds reach every eligible beneficiary in a timely, transparent, and dignified manner.
He highlighted that the pension schemes serve as a financial lifeline for the state’s weaker and disadvantaged communities and that the government is continuously working to make these schemes more effective and accessible.

Special Measures to Identify Eligible Beneficiaries
During the announcement, CM Dhami directed officials of the Social Welfare Department to initiate the identification process for old-age pension beneficiaries one year before they become eligible. Individuals turning 60, who fall under the eligibility criteria, will now be marked for enrollment at age 59, ensuring they receive benefits promptly upon reaching the eligible age.
This measure aims to eliminate delays and ensure that no eligible individual is deprived of pension benefits due to administrative hurdles.
Focus on Inclusive Social Welfare
CM Dhami reaffirmed the state government’s objective that every eligible person should have seamless access to social welfare schemes without facing any difficulties. He emphasized that the administration must take proactive steps to ensure no eligible beneficiary is left out under any pension scheme.
The Uttarakhand government continues to prioritize social security for senior citizens, women, differently-abled persons, farmers, and other deserving groups, reflecting its commitment to inclusive development and welfare-driven governance.
