Pauri Garhwal: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Pauri Garhwal on the occasion of the Harela festival and participated in a large-scale plantation campaign at Malgam village in Yamkeshwar block. The Chief Minister planted a sapling and conveyed a message of environmental protection and building a greener Uttarakhand.
During his visit, CM Dhami also inspected the Shri Dhanwantri Dham Herbal World Himalaya, where he reviewed the conservation of rare medicinal plants, scientific research activities, and Ayurveda-based innovations.
CM Dhami Participates in Harela Plantation Drive in Pauri Garhwal
As part of the Harela celebrations, Chief Minister Dhami joined the plantation campaign organised in Malgam village. He highlighted the importance of protecting forests, preserving biodiversity, and increasing green cover in Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister said that environmental conservation is essential for sustainable development and that every citizen should contribute towards protecting nature.

Inspection of Shri Dhanwantri Dham Herbal World Himalaya
During the visit, CM Dhami inspected the Shri Dhanwantri Dham Herbal World Himalaya and gathered information about the collection and preservation of rare herbs and medicinal plants.
He also reviewed ongoing scientific research, Ayurveda-based experiments, and conservation efforts being carried out at the herbal centre. The Chief Minister visited the Meditation Hut (Dhyan Kuti) located within the premises and appreciated the efforts to combine traditional knowledge with modern research.
Uttarakhand’s Medicinal Plants and Biodiversity Are Global Heritage: CM Dhami
Chief Minister Dhami praised Uttarakhand’s rich biodiversity, Himalayan medicinal plants, and traditional Ayurvedic knowledge, calling them valuable natural assets not only for India but for the entire world.
He emphasised the need to promote scientific research and conservation of these resources. According to the Chief Minister, such initiatives can help expand:
- Medicinal plant cultivation.
- Ayurveda-based research.
- Herbal tourism.
- Employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth.
Dhanwantri Dham Herbal World Himalaya Emerging as Unique Herbal Park
Located in Malgam, Shri Dhanwantri Dham Herbal World Himalaya is being developed as a unique herbal park where rare medicinal plants from different states and Himalayan regions are scientifically conserved and promoted.
The centre aims to become an important institution connecting traditional healthcare practices with modern scientific research, supporting innovation in the herbal and Ayurveda sectors.
CM Dhami and Baba Ramdev Plant Saplings, Give Message of Green Uttarakhand
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, along with yoga guru Baba Ramdev, planted a sapling at the Shri Dhanwantri Dham campus.
Both highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, sustainable development, and protection of medicinal plants for future generations.
CM Reviews Dehradun Science City Project and Innovation Initiatives
Before this visit, Chief Minister Dhami inspected the under-construction Science City project at the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST).
He also participated in a seminar on the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (STIP) and reviewed progress related to science and innovation initiatives in the state.
Dehradun Science City to Become Major Research and Innovation Hub
Addressing the programme, CM Dhami said that the Dehradun Science City project is progressing rapidly and will emerge as a major centre for science, innovation, and research.
He stated that the facility will benefit students, researchers, and scientists from Uttarakhand as well as across the country by providing opportunities for learning, experimentation, and technological advancement.
The Chief Minister reiterated that promoting science, environmental conservation, and herbal tourism will play an important role in Uttarakhand’s future development.
