Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved several major decisions aimed at promoting the state’s overall development and public welfare. The Chief Minister has sanctioned around ₹38 crore in financial assistance for various projects related to drinking water, irrigation, tourism, and infrastructure development.
Along with development initiatives, the state government has also approved an increase in Dearness Relief (DR) for civil and family pensioners receiving pensions under the 5th and 6th Central Pay Commissions, effective from January 1, 2026.
₹38 Crore Approved for Development Projects Across Uttarakhand
The approved funds will support key sectors including irrigation, drinking water supply, renewable energy, tourism infrastructure, and youth development.
The move is aimed at strengthening basic facilities, improving connectivity, supporting local communities, and accelerating development activities across different districts of Uttarakhand.
₹27.89 Crore Sanctioned for Irrigation Schemes
Under NABARD-funded schemes, Chief Minister Dhami approved financial assistance for multiple irrigation projects in the state.
- ₹12.83 crore has been sanctioned for five irrigation schemes in Chamoli and Almora districts.
- ₹15.06 crore has been approved for seven other irrigation projects of the Irrigation Department.
These projects are expected to improve irrigation facilities and support farmers by enhancing agricultural water availability.
₹3.98 Crore Approved for Drinking Water and Solar Projects in Champawat
To strengthen drinking water facilities and promote renewable energy, the Chief Minister approved ₹3.98 crore for the installation of:
- 50 hand pumps in different areas of Champawat district.
- 31 solar panels to improve energy availability.
The initiative aims to improve basic amenities and provide better access to water and clean energy in rural areas.
₹4.96 Crore Sanctioned for Mukteshwar Tourism Development
To boost tourism infrastructure in Uttarakhand, the government has approved ₹4.96 crore for the upgradation of the Tourist Rest House at Mukteshwar in Nainital district.
The improvement project is expected to enhance facilities for visitors and strengthen tourism activities in the popular hill destination.
₹1 Crore Approved as First Installment for NCC Academy in Pauri Garhwal
The Chief Minister also approved the release of the first installment of ₹1 crore for the proposed NCC Academy in Pauri Garhwal.
The approval has been provided against the revised estimated project cost of ₹50 crore and is aimed at promoting youth training, discipline, and skill development in the state.
Pensioners to Receive Increased Dearness Relief from January 2026
Along with development projects, CM Dhami approved an increase in Dearness Relief rates for state government civil and family pensioners.
The revised DR rates will be applicable from January 1, 2026, providing financial relief to pension beneficiaries.
The revised rates include:
- 5th Pay Commission pensioners: DR increased from 474% to 484% per month.
- 6th Pay Commission pensioners: DR increased from 257% to 262% per month.
The decision is expected to benefit thousands of pensioners across Uttarakhand.
CM Dhami Emphasises Quality and Timely Implementation
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is committed to the overall development of Uttarakhand, strengthening infrastructure, promoting tourism, supporting farmers, and improving public services.
He directed officials to ensure that all approved projects are implemented with quality standards and within the scheduled timelines.
