Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial assistance of nearly ₹17 crore for various development projects across the state. The approved funds will be used for modernising irrigation infrastructure, sewer line construction, land acquisition in Joshimath subsidence-hit areas, disaster relief, temple beautification, and sports infrastructure.
The financial approvals are aimed at strengthening public infrastructure, accelerating rehabilitation efforts in disaster-affected areas, and promoting religious and sports activities in the state.
₹3.01 Crore Approved for Energy-Efficient Tubewell Pumps
The Chief Minister has approved ₹3.01 crore for replacing over 15-year-old pump sets with energy-efficient pumps at various tubewells under the Haldwani Branch in Nainital district.
The project is expected to improve irrigation facilities while reducing energy consumption and operational costs.
₹3.11 Crore Sanctioned for Sewer Line in Dehradun
The state government has also approved ₹3.11 crore for laying a new sewer line in the Ramgarh (Vani Vihar) area of Raipur Assembly constituency in Dehradun district.
The project is expected to improve sanitation infrastructure and provide better sewer connectivity for local residents.
₹10 Crore Approved for Joshimath Subsidence Rehabilitation
A major allocation of ₹10 crore has been sanctioned from the State Contingency Fund for land acquisition required for slope stabilization works in Jyotirmath (Joshimath), Chamoli district.
The land acquisition will support the Public Works Department’s (PWD) proposed slope stabilization projects in areas affected by the 2023 land subsidence.
The government said the funding would help strengthen long-term safety measures and rehabilitation efforts in the subsidence-hit region.
Disaster Relief for 14 Families in Dehradun
The Chief Minister has also approved ₹3.36 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide temporary rented accommodation for 14 families affected by natural disasters in Majhada and Kaligad villages of Dehradun district’s Sadar tehsil during the 2025–26 financial year.
Under the relief package:
- 14 affected families will receive rental assistance.
- Each family will get ₹4,000 per month to arrange temporary housing at safer locations.
₹90.16 Lakh for Nanda Devi Temple Beautification
The state government has sanctioned ₹90.16 lakh for the beautification of the Nanda Devi Temple located in Milam village of Pithoragarh Assembly constituency. The project aims to enhance the temple’s infrastructure and promote religious tourism in the region.
Financial Assistance for Sports Infrastructure
To encourage sports activities, the Chief Minister has approved ₹5 lakh in financial assistance for the Uttaranchal Press Club to purchase sports equipment. The support is intended to improve sports facilities and encourage participation in sporting events.
Government Aims to Strengthen Infrastructure and Rehabilitation
According to the state government, the approved financial assistance will help improve irrigation systems, urban infrastructure, disaster rehabilitation, religious tourism, and sports facilities across Uttarakhand.
The government believes these projects will strengthen public infrastructure while accelerating rehabilitation work in disaster-affected areas and supporting the state’s overall development.
